Innovative Surfaces employs a state of the art, rigid, syntactic polyurethane resin system, specifically engineered to withstand the rigors of an outdoor food service application in the harshest conditions. This proprietary system is unmatched by anyone in the industry.
Another key to providing such a durable surface is the use of an in-mold polyester coating. It actually becomes an integral part of the finished top and not just a coating that protects the core material from the harshness of the outdoors. All of our surfaces use this as the top layer which makes it UV stable, stain, and corrosion resistant. This non-porous surface can easily be cleaned with soap & water.
Innovative Surfaces' usage of a polyester surface on a polyurethane composite sub-straight enables the tops to hold up to the same abuse that can occur with a boat. Without this combination of materials, inevitably field failures would occur since polyurethane resins are not UV stable as an outer surface material (they would yellow in the sun if used alone). Polyesters on the other hand, are designed not to fade or yellow and are more chemical and stain resistant to give a truer, more detailed appearance.
Innovative Surfaces does not use fiberglass, wood or any other core material which have been known to crack, craze and blister. Instead, our formula combination minimally expands or contracts with temperature changes and will not absorb water. Our tops were developed in Arizona to withstand the intense summer heat and can be used for interior and exterior applications.
